Sometimes it just seems like time flies so quickly, well, when you're having fun. OR NOT

Thing is, I seriously JUST got a free few minutes to update the old blog.

Music links tomorrow maybe. Tune in.

1st hint....   ANDRA DAY

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjBZoOs_dXg

Inspired by a conversation with an acquaintance/friend that I met at a doctors office.

We were talking about a wide range of subjects while waiting for the doctor to free up, got onto music, and she used a phrase that I hadn't heard before but found instantly intriguing/funny/darkly snarky but respecting the utter-er I have to give benefit of the doubt.  Just the slightest bit eclectic but still has me repeating it over and over. (in my mind as opposed to babbling even more incoherently than usual)

By now, some folks are like WHAT WHAT Just tell us for god's sake, others are like jeez, here he goes again, while true believers are like, Well he HAS had a couple of good ideas and turned a phrase or two his own self so please, spill the beans!!

In a minute, in a minute.

I'm enamored by etymology, especially of phrases. where did they come from, secondary meanings, speaking entendre-ly

Oh yeah, I love to make up words also. Soo me.

I agree, taking a loooonnnnnngggggg time to even come close to making sense.

The phrase was "Put on a shirt with buttons and get a clue" in reference to musical taste, implying that Some people, who listened to Some music, were dangerously close maybe approaching the great unwashed.

Impossible that it's been this long since I was last here to update. Busy busy busy with work, overtime, holiday stuff, family, pre Thanksgiving preparations.

Wow, Phewww.

Got Mom all spruced up for the festivities at Che Baraco Belben

And Aunt Marge as well!

Another successful visit to Vivian's for the Pre Party cleanup/makeover/maintenance

So we had a somewhat smaller group at Thanksgiving, just 8 of us!

Well NO, not THAT Eight is Enough

More like.........

And

And

So you get the idea,

Of course the food was stoopid good Scott and Quinn likely went to the Teradactyl/Turkey farm to get a GIANT Turkey...

Quinn (AKA Wednesday) also fixed only THREE Pies and all of the fixings, homemade gravy from scratch, a ham, and all of the rest of the quite scrumptious meal.

Of course we toasted friends and family not present, near and far.

Yep!  About a month and a half. Long time away from this blog.

Going to chalk that up to the rigors of full time employment and the duties of taking care of mom without the physical therapist (who has basically driven himself into a deep hole of his own construction)

So the cousins and self have been doing double duty getting mom to walk at least 5 days a week.

Think treading water with respect to progress physically.

Eating has been fine and she's (all things considered) doing pretty okay.

We had a nice mini reunion at House of Prime Rib the first week of September with out of towners Paul and Susan. Was a very enjoyable gathering.  Pics to follow.

Okay, back a little quicker this time. It's truly a struggle.

I took Mom and Marge in to Vivians for hairapy today.

Turned out okay, and while I was waiting down in the Marina I decided to schlep right over to the theater and catch a movie.

I saw Paper Towns which was very enjoyable.

Look up the concept of "Paper Towns" created by mapmakers to protect copyrighted maps.

Since our dinner at HOPR is on Saturday, Vivian advised Mom and Marge to sleep sitting up, but I think given their history, this might be more appropriate.

Just sayin

Just a special shout out to Family and Friends of Sgt. Scott Lunger
EOW 7/22/15
A hero who gave all.

Where to start, Oh WHERE to start!!

Just when you thought it was safe.....

Mom has been doing relatively well the past couple of weeks, some dietary issues have caused some mild upset but a trip to the doctor and some prescription stomach med along with a renewed effort to eat and drink water more consistently are at the root of the cure.
Sisyphus keeps on pushing the rock up the hill.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Took her to get her hair done in advance of the July birthdays (which will actually occur in August to intersect with the out of towners arrival from the great North.)

We'll be celebrating at the House Of Prime Rib, logistics dictated that it's much easier (no two days of cleaning and set up, no day long cleanup afterward)

So we'll just go somewhere everyone likes that's easy in and out and YUMMO.

So not satisfied    with staying out of trouble and seeing the Grandfathers Clock sitting at the end of the hall mocking her, mom decided to do some winding, adjusting, and eventually juggling of the big ass clock and ended up nearly crawling inside as she managed to pull it over on herself.          (See arrggghhh above)

She's okay, the clock is okay, bent not bowed I believe.
